Synaptics Introduces xMCU™ Era with Astra® SR200 Series Multimodal Edge AI Processors

Synaptics has launched the xMCU, a new class of microcontrollers designed for multimodal Edge AI, with the Astra SR200 Series. These processors integrate heterogeneous, AI-native compute and acceleration with scalable high-bandwidth custom DRAM, enabling larger AI models and richer multimodal workloads to run entirely on-device for next-generation AI wearables, connected cameras, and industrial systems.
