GMO Requests Japan Utilize New Cyber Defense Powers Following Onamae.com Trading Server Hack

GMO has called upon Japan to employ its new cyber defense capabilities after a hack on its Onamae.com trading servers. Attackers demanded ransom and threatened customer accounts across more than 70 brokerage firms. GMO is offering customers a free six-month migration to a separate cloud service and will detail the loss claims process by November 6.
