Chongqing Unveils Ambitious Robotics and Embodied AI Development Plan

Chongqing, a major manufacturing hub in China, has announced a strategic plan for 2026-2030 to significantly expand its robotics development and deployment. The initiative aims to build a major embodied-intelligence industrial cluster in western China, leveraging technologies and supply-chain capabilities from its automotive and motorcycle industries for intelligent robots and embodied AI. The city plans to transfer technologies like electric drive systems, power batteries, and sensors to the robotics sector, with an aim to raise the industry's output value to over 100 billion yuan (approximately 15 billion U.S. dollars).
