Alibaba's Qwen AI Model to Integrate into Apple Intelligence for Chinese Users

Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group has announced a partnership with Apple to integrate its Qwen AI model into Apple Intelligence. This landmark collaboration will make Qwen's AI capabilities available for text and image understanding and content generation within Apple's operating system for Chinese users. The Qwen-powered features are slated for testing in the latest iOS developer beta starting November 4, 2026, with a full rollout to Chinese users with the official iOS 27.3 release in December. Users will have the option to enable the Qwen integration and control information sharing. This marks the first instance of a major global consumer hardware maker utilizing a Chinese large model as the primary system-level AI backbone in the Chinese market, signifying a major step in the commercial application of domestic large models.
