NVIDIA and Cisco Develop New Optical Tech for AI Data Centers

NVIDIA and Cisco have announced a collaboration to develop Ultra-Dense Small Form Factor Pluggable (USFP) optical modules, designed for next-generation AI factories. This 400Gb/s-per-lane technology aims to enable AI builders to significantly increase compute scale within existing network footprints. The initiative also seeks to reduce the power consumption of networking components in AI factories, simplifying infrastructure deployment for various enterprises.
