OpenAI Develops AI Pipeline Capable of Generating 948 Linux Root Escalation Exploits

OpenAI has detailed a new AI pipeline that, in a 30-hour run, used an upcoming cyber-focused AI model to identify, reproduce, and generate 948 local privilege escalation (LPE) exploits for Linux vulnerabilities. The pipeline dynamically reproduced 1,724 vulnerabilities and produced exploits allowing unprivileged local users to gain root access, costing approximately $1.2 million in API credits.
