DOJ Postpones ADA Web Accessibility Deadlines for Public Sector

The U.S. Department of Justice has issued an interim final rule, extending the compliance deadlines for web and mobile application accessibility under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. State and local government entities with populations over 50,000 now have until April 2027 to comply, while smaller public entities are granted until April 2028. This adjustment provides these governmental bodies with additional time to implement the necessary digital accessibility standards.
