Education Department Plans First Special Education Spending Study in 20 Years

Federal officials are moving forward with a national study to assess how much schools nationwide spend on educating students with disabilities. This will be the first comprehensive evaluation in over two decades. The U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences is initiating the study, which aims to provide spending estimates across states, districts, and disability categories.
