Census Bureau Initiates In-Field Enumeration for 2026 Test in Southern States

The U.S. Census Bureau has started in-field enumeration for its 2026 Census Test in Huntsville, Alabama, and Spartanburg, South Carolina. Census takers and Postal Service workers are visiting households that have not yet responded to the online test, which began in May. This pilot program aims to evaluate new methods for the 2030 Census and enhance the in-field data collection process.
