Federal Agencies Maintain 2025 Civil Monetary Penalty Levels for 2026

Federal agencies will continue to use the 2025 civil monetary penalty (CMP) levels throughout 2026. This decision by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) was made because a government shutdown in late 2025 prevented the necessary inflation data from being collected. The Social Security Administration has confirmed the ongoing application of these penalty rates.
