SEC Proposes Repealing Prior Climate Disclosure Regulation

The Securities and Exchange Commission has formally moved to revoke its 2024 climate-risk disclosure rule, which was established during the previous administration but never implemented. Current SEC Chair Paul Atkins cited concerns that the original rules exceeded the Commission's authority. He also noted that the rules would impose significant costs without providing adequate informational advantages.
