Pentagon Designates Chinese Firms with Military Ties, Beijing Objects

The U.S. Pentagon has added several major Chinese companies, including BYD, Alibaba, and Baidu, to a list of entities with alleged links to the Chinese military. This designation prohibits these firms from securing U.S. defense contracts. China has strongly criticized the move, asserting it undermines recent diplomatic agreements and broadly suppresses Chinese businesses under national security pretexts.
