Federal government advances new election regulations before midterms

The Trump administration is rapidly implementing new federal rules and restrictions concerning voting and election procedures via executive orders. These measures include DHS plans for "State Citizenship Lists" and USPS proposals to restrict mail-in ballots to those on a federal list. These changes are currently being challenged through lawsuits filed by voting rights organizations and several states.
