U.S. Department of Labor Demands Immediate Action from Governors on Unemployment Insurance Fraud

The U.S. Department of Labor has called on state governors to take immediate action to combat widespread unemployment insurance (UI) fraud and improper payments. The department cited significant losses in states such as California, which is over $20 billion in debt, New York, losing an estimated $2 million daily, and Illinois, with over $320 million in improper payouts.
