Supreme Court Rules on Habeas Relief and Second Amendment Firearm Rights

The U.S. Supreme Court today released decisions in two cases, *McCarthy v. Hernandez* and *United States v. Hemani*. In the first case, the Court determined that the Second Circuit had exceeded its authority regarding habeas relief. For the second case, the Court found that prosecuting an individual for possessing a firearm while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance is inconsistent with the Second Amendment.
