U.S. Trade Representative Launches Investigation into Germany's Pharmaceutical Pricing Practices

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) initiated a Section 301 investigation into Germany's alleged persistent underpayment for innovative pharmaceutical products. The investigation will examine Germany's policies, including conditioning pharmaceutical pricing confidentiality on a 9 percent discount and additional administrative costs, and proposed legislation to impose further mandatory rebates.
