HHS Successfully Concludes Hantavirus Response Effort with No U.S. Cases

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced the successful conclusion of its federal public health response to a Hantavirus exposure event linked to the M/V Hondius cruise ship. The final 42-day monitoring period ended on June 21, with no individuals in the United States remaining under public health monitoring for Hantavirus exposure. HHS, under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., collaborated with federal, state, and local partners to identify exposed individuals, conduct monitoring, and provide clinical guidance, resulting in no sustained transmission of Hantavirus in the U.S.
