DOJ Proposes $450 Million Settlement for PFAS Contamination by Chemours

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced a proposed settlement of approximately $450 million with chemical manufacturer Chemours. This agreement aims to address extensive contamination from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) originating from the company's facilities. The contamination has affected three states, including North Carolina's Cape Fear River.
