Department of Education Releases New Rules for Workforce Pell Programs and Accountability Framework

The U.S. Department of Education has issued final rules to establish new regulations for "Workforce Pell" eligible programs and a new accountability framework, the Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS). These rules implement provisions of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" and are effective for the 2026–27 award year, with some reporting changes taking effect July 1, 2026.
