U.S. Trade Representative Holds Hearings on Proposed Tariffs Over Forced Labor Goods

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is holding public hearings on July 7, 2026, regarding proposed actions in 60 Section 301 investigations. These investigations found that various economies have failed to impose and effectively enforce prohibitions on the importation of goods produced with forced labor. USTR has proposed additional duties of 10% or 12.5% on products from these economies.
