NNSA Completes Critical B61-13 Bomb Components Ahead of Schedule

The U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) announced the early completion of "diamond stamping" for all canned subassemblies of the B61-13 nuclear gravity bomb for the current fiscal year, three months ahead of schedule. This milestone, achieved at the Y-12 National Security Complex, is part of a broader strategy to modernize the nuclear deterrent and develop new technical solutions for defeating hard and deeply buried targets.
