Justice Department Accelerates Benefits for Fallen Officers' Families

The Department of Justice has significantly increased the processing speed of death claims under the Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program. In a recent four-week period, the agency finalized three times the number of claims compared to the preceding nine months. This expedited process has resulted in over $96 million in benefits being distributed to the families of public safety officers who died in the line of duty.
