FERC Orders New Standards for Power Grid Computational Loads

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has directed NERC to create new reliability standards. These standards will address potential risks to the Bulk-Power System from integrating computational loads, such as data centers. NERC is also tasked with revising its procedures for registering these entities, with both sets of revisions due by the end of 2026.
