U.S. House Passes Bill Banning Foreign Contributions to State and Local Ballot Measure Campaigns

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved H.R. 3535, legislation that prohibits foreign nationals from contributing to state or local ballot measure campaigns. This bill extends existing federal law, which already bans foreign contributions to candidates, to include ballot measures, referenda, and recall elections, and now moves to the Senate for consideration.
