Justice Department Declares Major ADA Integration Guidance 'Not Enforceable'

The U.S. Department of Justice under the Trump administration has issued a notice stating that its long-standing guidance on the enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act's (ADA) integration mandate and the Supreme Court's Olmstead v. L.C. decision is "not enforceable." This guidance, last updated in 2020, has been used for over a decade to promote the rights of people with disabilities to live in their communities.
