DHS Secretary Mullin Claims Foreign Adversaries Can Access and Manipulate U.S. Voting Machines

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has asserted that foreign adversaries possess the capability to access and alter U.S. voting machines and voter registrations. Mullin's statements, which echo President Trump's previous narratives on election interference, claim that foreign actors have vital parts in voting machines and can "change voter registration and your vote." While security experts acknowledge vulnerabilities in voting machines, there is currently no evidence that these vulnerabilities have been exploited to attack a real U.S. election.
