Senators Reintroduce Bill to Allow Dual SNAP and FDPIR Benefits for Tribal Households

U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) have reintroduced the Tribal Access to Nutrition Assistance Act. This legislation aims to allow eligible Tribal households to receive benefits from both the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) in the same month, a change supporters say would reduce food insecurity and administrative barriers.
