Senators Reintroduce Bill to Allow Dual Enrollment in Tribal Food Assistance Programs

U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) have reintroduced the Tribal Access to Nutrition Assistance Act. This legislation aims to permit eligible Tribal households to receive benefits concurrently from both the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), a change intended to reduce food insecurity and administrative barriers in Tribal communities.
