Treasury Department Removes Dozens from Sanctions List in Modernization Initiative

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has completed the second phase of its sanctions modernization program. This action involved removing 84 individuals and entities from the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List). The initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness and targeting of U.S. sanctions by delisting deceased individuals, defunct entities, and those no longer deemed national security or foreign policy priorities.
