Department of Energy Announces $100 Billion AI Data Center and Gas Complex at Former Kentucky Uranium Site
The U.S. Department of Energy has selected Brookfield Asset Management to develop and operate a $100 billion artificial intelligence data center complex, including a new natural gas and battery storage power plant, at the government-owned Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky. This initiative is part of the Trump administration's strategy to achieve AI superiority over China and transform former DOE sites into economic growth engines. A similar project was announced for Ohio's Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in March.
