The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Transportation (DOT) announced the preliminary results of "Operation Highway Shield," a joint mission that removed over 800 dangerous truckers from America's roads. The three-day operation, conducted from July 28-30, involved roadside checks by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and state highway patrols, leading to the detention of 51 illegal immigrants and the arrest of 86 operators for dangerous behavior.
