U.S. Department of Transportation Awards $870 Million in Funding for Airport Infrastructure Projects Across 44 States

The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding $870 million in airport infrastructure grants to projects across 44 states and two U.S. territories. This funding, distributed through the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) program, will support a range of improvements including airport planning, terminal upgrades, baggage handling systems, runway and taxiway rehabilitation, and road access works. Major awards include $289 million for Los Angeles International Airport for a new terminal access road and $50 million for Miami International Airport to reconstruct its terminal roof.
