The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has unveiled a new proposed rule, 'Renewing the Promise of Head Start for the Next Generation.' This rule aims to expand access, reduce red tape, and refocus the Head Start program on preparing vulnerable children for success. It is projected to preserve or expand up to 268,000 Head Start slots nationwide and save $2.2 billion, representing the largest known reinvestment in the program since its inception.
