Federal Transit Administration Commits $1.28 Billion to Utah's FrontRunner 2X Commuter Rail Project

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced a $1.28 billion commitment to Utah's FrontRunner 2X Commuter Rail Line project, which has now entered the Engineering phase of the Capital Investment Grants program. This funding will support engineering activities, property acquisition, and other non-construction costs for the multi-billion dollar project, aiming to increase train frequency and capacity by at least 60%.
