GAO Report Alleges Billions in Exaggerated Savings from White House "Department of Government Efficiency"

A Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation has concluded that billions in claimed savings by the White House's "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, were not realized. The report, issued last week, cited poor recordkeeping and a lack of transparency, finding that many supposed contract and lease terminations were already in progress or could not be verified.
