U.S. Appeals Court Allows Thousands of Social Media Addiction Lawsuits Against Tech Giants to Proceed

A U.S. appeals court has ruled that thousands of lawsuits against Meta Platforms, Google, TikTok, and other social media companies, alleging their products are designed to be addictive to young users, can move forward. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected arguments that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act provides immunity.
