ICE to Equip Officers with Electric Shock Gloves for Combative Individuals

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers may soon be outfitted with 'conductive distraction and de-escalation devices' in the form of gloves that deliver painful electric shocks. The Department of Homeland Security plans to spend up to $20 million on these devices, known as G.L.O.V.E. (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter), for officers and agents by March, raising concerns about their use in gaining compliance from individuals.
