Department of Justice Charges 11 in Decade-Long Nationwide Marriage Fraud Scheme

The Department of Justice unsealed a two-count indictment charging 11 individuals with conspiring to orchestrate more than 1,000 sham marriages over a decade to fraudulently obtain immigration status for foreign nationals, primarily from the People's Republic of China. Some individuals reportedly paid up to $100,000 per sham marriage.
