Department of Justice Indicts 11 Individuals in Nationwide Marriage Fraud Scheme

The Department of Justice has charged 11 individuals for their alleged involvement in a decade-long scheme that arranged over 1,000 sham marriages to help foreign nationals, primarily from the People's Republic of China, illegally obtain U.S. legal status. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow stated that such schemes pose a direct threat to America's national security.
