Justice Department Clarifies Scope of Chinese Hacking Targets on U.S. Critical Infrastructure

The U.S. Department of Justice and FBI announced court-authorized domain seizures to disrupt "QScan" and "QTRouter," hacking platforms used by Chinese state-sponsored group QTFY to target U.S. critical infrastructure. A revised statement clarified that while agencies like the Senate, Federal Reserve, NASA, and Departments of Energy, Justice, and Health and Human Services were among the targets, not all were successfully compromised. For instance, an attempted breach of NASA was unsuccessful due to the agency's patching of targeted software.
