FBI Alters Hiring Policy, Will No Longer Automatically Disqualify Applicants with History of Paying for Sex

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has revised its hiring policy, moving away from an automatic disqualification for applicants who have engaged in sexual encounters with prostitutes. The agency will now evaluate such candidates on a case-by-case basis, considering the context of the conduct. However, applicants who engaged in prostitution within the last 10 years, three or more times overall, or while in a position of trust, will still be dismissed. This change is intended to accommodate otherwise suitable candidates, including service members, who may have engaged in the practice where it is legal, or those who were victims of sexual abuse.
