Federal Judge Blocks HUD Funding Overhaul Jeopardizing Fair Housing Services

A U.S. District Judge in Massachusetts has granted relief to fair housing organizations, blocking a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding overhaul for fiscal year 2025. Advocates argued the restructuring of the Fair Housing Initiatives Program (FHIP) threatened to deprive community-based organizations of federal funding necessary to investigate discrimination and assist housing seekers nationwide.
