USDA Unveils Initiatives to Support U.S. Beef Industry

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has introduced "Ranchers First Initiatives" to rebuild the "Great American Beef Herd" and strengthen regional processing capacity. These efforts include a Regional Processor Continuity Effort, aiming to improve business resilience across the agricultural supply chain. The goal is to shift nearly 20% of available beef processing capacity to American-owned independent small, mid-size, and new co-ops, potentially bolstering the domestic food supply.
