House Republicans Investigate DEA Tactic Allowing Fentanyl Shipments to Reach Streets

Republicans on the House Oversight Committee have launched an investigation into a controversial Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) tactic that allegedly allowed significant amounts of fentanyl to reach U.S. streets. Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer sent a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche requesting records related to the DEA's strategy of monitoring, rather than seizing, major fentanyl shipments to build larger drug cases. This follows concerns raised by New Mexico officials and a lawsuit filed by the state's attorney general.
