FAA Reaches Milestone with 100th Surface Awareness Initiative Deployment for Air Traffic Control

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has installed its 100th Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) system, an aircraft and vehicle surveillance tool, at U.S. airports. This deployment marks nearly half of the 220 airports slated to receive the system, which is designed to improve runway efficiency and enhance air traffic controllers' ability to safely manage operations, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
