FAA Reaches Milestone with 100th Surface Awareness Initiative Deployment

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has installed its 100th Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) tool, an aircraft and vehicle surveillance system, at airports nationwide. This milestone marks nearly half of the 220 airports slated to receive the system, which enhances runway efficiency and safety by allowing air traffic controllers to track surface traffic in real-time, even in poor weather conditions.
