FAA Deploys 100th Surface Awareness Initiative System to Improve Air Traffic Control Safety

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has installed its 100th Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) system, a surveillance tool designed to enhance runway efficiency and safety for air traffic controllers. This milestone reaches nearly half of the 220 airports slated to receive the system, which tracks aircraft and vehicles in real-time, especially in poor weather conditions.
