FDA Reports 17 Active Foodborne Outbreak Investigations, Including Cyclospora and Salmonella

The Food and Drug Administration is currently investigating 17 active foodborne outbreaks, with seven linked to the Cyclospora parasite, including a large outbreak affecting 11,458 patients in 20 states tied to iceberg lettuce from a Central Mexico facility. A new Salmonella Newport outbreak has also sickened 97 people.
