Illinois Senators Criticize FAA Administrator for Withholding Air Traffic Controller Raises

Democratic Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin of Illinois have harshly criticized Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Bryan Bedford for delaying a 3.8% pay raise for air traffic controllers, which was approved by Congress and signed into law by President Trump in April. The senators sent a letter to the FAA on Friday, urging the immediate implementation of the remaining 2.8% pay hike, calling the delay 'petty, disrespectful and counterproductive' given the workforce's mandatory overtime for years.
