U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Plans $2 Billion Underground Network for Sentinel ICBMs

The United States is preparing a military construction project, valued at up to $2 billion, to establish an underground communications network for the LGM-35A Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. This extensive infrastructure, spanning up to 3,581 km (2,225 miles), is designed to provide a hardened and resilient communications backbone for hundreds of dispersed nuclear launch sites.
